U.S. Handset Sales Healthy in Q2, Moto Still No. 1

According to Strategy Analytics, overall handset unit sales has reached nearly 42 million, up 5.3 percent over the year-ago quarter.  The research firm claims that retail product bundles and new devices led the growth, which were mainly from a "healthy" replacement rates. 

Motorola retained its No. 1 position with nearly 26 percent market share, followed by LG electronics with 21 percent market share.  Research in Motion, however gained double-digit market share for the first time, selling 1 in 10 handsets sold in the U.S.  Below is the summary of the handset manufacturer market share:
